The cabin site was once a heavily wooded pasture to a neighboring farm. The main cabin was built off site by local Amish and moved into place in 2001. We purchased the property in 2011 and constructed the bathroom & laundry addition. In keeping with the "rustic" feel of the cabin, finish work utilized recycled barn boards from Laurie's childhood farm. The pictures and many items in the cabin reflect our personal heritage. From the handmade quilt from Grandma Christine to the barn pulleys from the original Danielson family farm, all are reflecting the value of hard work and thriftiness instilled in us from our ancestors. We hope you enjoy the peace and beauty of Heritage Hideaway and are inspired to reflect on your own personal heritage.
